Collection: KUROUCHI-OAK by HG Blades

The collection has been made and lovingly created by Hayden from HG Blades in Victoria. Hayden has a passion for producing his own knives so you can be assured that the work is of the highest quality.

Each HG Blades knife is carefully hand crafted by Hayden Gregory in his one-man workshop, with a focus on real-world kitchen performance.  Every blade is forged by hand and bears the hammer marks of its maker, ensuring no two knives are ever the same.

Kurouchi is a traditional, rustic blade finish which preserves the blacksmith’s hammer marks and black scale from the forging process.  The dark patina helps protect the knife from rust and further oxidation.

These blades are designed for daily use, with a thick spine which tapers to a fine tip.  They have a balanced 50/50 grind for ease of sharpening.

The handles are hard-wearing Tasmanian Oak, with Australian Red Gum and Pine spacers.
