Kyohei Shindo, a talented blacksmith based in Tosa, is growing a cult following for his ultra thin knife designs. And his knives are characterized by having a tapering spine yet incredibly thin cutting edge, and a Tosa lacquered kurouchi finish.

This series he used a blend of Hitachi Blue #2 steel and iron. He favors the traditional warikomi method to create iron-clad carbon steel knives, a technique few blacksmiths continue to practice. This method is known for producing superior knives.
