The KUROUCHI-OAK Series is 100% Australian Made and fully custom also they have that rustic look, but very functional keeping a high performance.
Each HG Blades knife is carefully hand crafted by Hayden Gregory in his one-man workshop, with a focus on real-world kitchen performance. Every blade is forged by hand and bears the hammer marks of its maker, ensuring no two knives are ever the same.
All blades have the Kurouchi finish. Giving the rustic black blade finish which preserves the blacksmith’s hammer marks and black scale from the forging process. The dark patina helps protect the knife from rust and further oxidation.
These blades are designed for daily use, with a thick spine which tapers to a fine tip. They have a balanced 50/50 grind for ease of sharpening.
The handles are hard-wearing Tasmanian Oak, with Australian Red Gum and Pine spacers.
