Heritage and Character
Gifu Prefecture - and specifically the Seki-Mino region - has been the heart of Japanese blade production since the Kamakura period (1185-1333). Blessed with pure river water, superior charcoal, and iron sand, master swordsmiths developed techniques here that were later adapted into the world's finest kitchen knives. Takeuchi Hamono Seisakusho carries this legacy forward, producing traditional hand-forged knives (Wa-Bocho) that hold an edge and feel unlike anything mass-produced. The prefix 特製 (Tokusei) - meaning "Special Edition" or "Deluxe Quality" - signals this is not a standard production piece. Each knife from this workshop reflects individual craftsmanship from a single maker, making it a collectible as much as a working tool.
