The Bread Knife

The Oliva Elité is Messermeister's premium everyday line - forged in Solingen and fitted with hand-oiled Spanish olive wood handles that are unique in grain pattern to each knife. The scalloped edge cuts cleanly through crusty bread, pastry, and tomatoes without crushing or tearing. At 230mm it has the reach to handle large loaves and sourdough boules in a single stroke. The olive wood handle is warm, tactile, and improves with age. A knife that looks as good on the bench as it performs on the board.

Care & Maintenance

  • Hand wash only - never dishwasher
  • Dry immediately after washing
  • No honing required - serrated edges should be professionally sharpened when dull
  • Occasionally condition the olive wood handle with food-safe mineral oil
  • Store on a magnetic strip or in a knife block
