The Sakura Series
The Sakura series reflects Makoto Kurosaki's refined aesthetic - SG2 powdered steel chosen for its exceptional edge life and ease of sharpening, paired with elegant cherry wood handles that balance beauty with everyday practicality. SG2 is a premium powdered steel that holds a finer, longer-lasting edge than conventional stainless steels, making it a favourite among serious home cooks and professionals alike. The tsuchime hammered finish reduces drag and prevents food from sticking to the flat.
Care & Maintenance
- Hand wash with warm water and towel dry immediately
- Do not use a dishwasher
- Hone regularly with a ceramic or fine honing rod to maintain the edge between sharpenings
- Sharpen with a whetstone to restore the edge
- Do not cut frozen foods, bones, or hard produce - the blade may chip
