The Sakura Series
The Sakura series reflects Makoto Kurosaki's refined aesthetic - SG2 powdered steel chosen for its exceptional edge life and ease of sharpening, paired with elegant cherry wood handles that balance beauty with everyday practicality. The bunka's reverse tanto tip gives it a distinctive profile and makes it ideal for precision tip work - scoring, detail cuts, and fine vegetable prep where a standard santoku tip would be too blunt. SG2 holds a finer, longer-lasting edge than conventional stainless steels, making it a favourite among serious home cooks and professionals alike.
Care & Maintenance
- Hand wash with warm water and towel dry immediately
- Do not use a dishwasher
- Hone regularly with a ceramic or fine honing rod to maintain the edge between sharpenings
- Sharpen with a whetstone to restore the edge
- Do not cut frozen foods, bones, or hard produce - the blade may chip
- Store on a magnetic strip or in a knife block to protect the edge
