Japanese Geometry, Indonesian Craft
The octagon WA handle is the traditional Japanese handle shape - eight-sided, lightweight, and designed to sit naturally in the hand with a pinch grip. Teakwood burl is a dense, characterful wood with striking grain patterns - no two handles are identical. The liner spacer adds a refined detail between the handle and ferrule. Kanefusa steel is a respected Japanese steel known for toughness and edge retention. The matching teakwood burl sheath protects the edge during storage and transport.
Care and Maintenance
- Hand wash only - never dishwasher
- Dry immediately after washing to prevent rust
- Apply a light coat of camellia or food-safe mineral oil to the blade periodically
- Condition the wooden handle and sheath with a food-safe wood oil occasionally
- Sharpen on a whetstone - carbon steel responds well
- Store in the included sheath or on a magnetic strip
